I really really love that I have created an occupation where I get to potter around making creations like this – can you guess what it is? (Answer at end of this post):

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a sweet-tooth kind of gal. My parents love to tell a story about travelling with me to Australia when I was two, and taking me out for dinner (possibly my first experience of a restaurant) and I ordered not one, not two, but three bowls of strawberries and ice cream. The fact that they let me do this amazes me! But they did, and the dessert-loving days of my life began.
So this week I’ve been completely in my element, preparing for the Rawcous Desserts & Festive Treats workshop that we’re running at Taste Nature this Sunday (November 10th, 12.00-2.30pm, $55pp). I always get excited before workshops, but this one just about has me delirious! Tweaking the recipes for this one is my idea of a very very good time. It’s hard to believe that food can taste so sensational, feel so indulgent, and be so nourishing – all at once.
On the menu this week we have a variety of delicious desserts and treats to be made for silly season events, to give as gifts, or to treat yourself! There are now just a couple of spaces remaining, so if you are interested please email me if you have any questions, or book yourself in directly. Everything we make will be entirely plant-based – no dairy, wheat, gluten, eggs or processed sugar although (we will be using honey so it’s not completely vegan – but I can tell you how to substitute other ingredients for honey if you’re so inclined). You have the opportunity to taste everything and you get all the recipes to keep.
Oh and the answer from the top? It was Apricot Caramel Trifle. Did you get it?

Testing! That trifle looks amazing. Desserts are one of the meanings of life, I feel.
Thanks Sara! I couldn’t agree more. What is life without dessert?
Hey congratulations on being the first person to comment using the new improved (thanks to you!) comments system on the new improved blog! Small things…all very exciting to a new(ish) blogger!
Wow what a fantastic way to spend a few hours on a Sunday afternoon. The workshop was just fantastic and the food amazing! Spending time with like minded, food appreciating people was awesome. Thanks for the opportunity Nicola. So pleased I went and would recommend people attend future workshops. Can’t wait to try out the recipes. Friends and family are going to be soooo impressed!!
