I am getting quite distracted today, obsessively refreshing my stats page and watching the numbers go through the roof thanks to this wonderful article about what we’re doing with Nibl in today’s Otago Daily Times. I’m so grateful to Charmian Smith for capturing perfectly what Nibl is all about for me, and for all the people who’ve helped me to get it off the ground.
For those of you who are visiting this site and blog for the first time – welcome! I hope you like what you see. Just thought I would give you a little virtual tour of the website. Here we go…
We have just one more event this year, and then we’re taking a little break. I’ve just listed the new workshop dates for early 2014:
Summer Extrawdinary Food Workshop: Sunday January 26th, 12.00 – 2.30pm
Lunchbox Envy Demo: Wednesday February 12th, 7.00 – 8.30pm
Not for Me, Dairy Workshop: Sunday 9th March, 12.00 – 2.30pm
Extrawdinary Food Demo: Monday 7th April, 7.00 – 8.30pm
Super Snacks Workshop: Sunday 11th May, 12.00 – 2.30pm
?? Mystery Demo: Wednesday 4th June, 7.00 – 8.30pm
(I may take votes on the topic for this one – something in keeping with the change in seasons but it’s hard to think about that right now).
In a nutshell – so to speak – demos are short and sharp and you watch me making recipes – tickets cost $$35 per person. Workshops are longer, can be hands-on if you want to have a play with the ingredients, techniques and equipment, and cost $55 per person. You get to taste everything and you get printed copies of the recipes. All of the above will be taking place at Taste Nature, 131 High St, Dunedin.
If you want to know more about a workshop, see some photos, or book tickets, go to the workshops and demonstrations page. Most of your burning questions are probably answered on the FAQ page, but if not please feel free to contact me to ask questions. There are still a few chances to win your place in a workshop/demo for free – when the website started, I announced that the first 20 people to use the online booking system would go in the draw to get one ticket refunded – we’re almost up to 20 but not quite, so there is still a chance to win!
If you know someone who might like to come to a workshop, we have gift vouchers for both demonstrations and workshops (which make great Christmas presents!) They can be ordered here – and you can leave me a comment to say whether you would prefer your voucher to be sent by post, or sent by email.
We also run private workshops for groups of six or more – either at your location, or we can help you find a venue. The plan is to offer one private workshop a month next year, and some months are already looking popular – so if this is something that interests you, please contact me with an enquiry. Private workshops can be tailor-made to fit specific interests and needs.
Given that you’re reading this, you’ve already cleverly spotted that there is a blog! If you want to be first to know about new blog posts, just fill in the little box for followers. Of course there are recipes too – and they can easily be shared or printed using the tabs at the bottom on the right. And there’s also a facebook page, where I post little snippets that catch my eye every couple of days, as well as some recipes which may not be on the website.
Last but not least, there is a box to fill in on the About or Contact pages if you would like to be kept in the loop about new Nibl events. I generally send out emails once every 1 – 2 months – I don’t want to spam anyone! But there are some very exciting ideas in the pipeline for next year, so this is a good option if you want to be in the know.
Phew! That’s it – now I have the small matter of a fundraiser to plan. Toodeloo!

Wow that really IS a wonderful article, bravo! I am going to try making some Christmas “chocolate” because it looks delicious.
Thanks Jenny! Yay – all is right in my blog world if you can once again comment!
And you know what, tomorrow night that peppermint slice gets its moment in the spotlight – it’s that fundraiser I was telling you about. Hope you enjoy the chocolates – they are dangerously good. N xx
