I have to say, I love this Nibl business. Anyone who comes to a Nibl event can testify to that. It is amazing to start something from nothing, and have people want to be part of it. It blows my mind. When people come back to a second or third workshop, or stop me in the street and tell me what they’ve been doing since the last demo or workshop, it is such a thrill to hear! And it just seems to be gathering momentum; every single event has been a lot of fun, but there has been a particular buzz around the last few in particular, meaning that workshop bookings have gone a little crazy in the last couple of weeks! I love it.
Here’s a summary of what’s coming up:

First cab off the ranks is the Not For Me, Dairy! Workshop on Sunday 9th March, 12.00 – 2.30pm. You can read more about it here, but we’re going to be making plant-based substitutes for milk, cream, soft cheese, yoghurt and chocolate. Uh-huh, chocolate. This event was designed at the request of a number of previous workshop participants (see I told you I read all the feedback forms!) and is great for anyone who wants to extend their options for adding more plants into their diet in unexpected ways, as well as obviously targeting people who want to, or have to be, dairy-free (or have someone in the household who is).

Following that we have the Extrawdinary Food Demonstration on Monday 7th April, 7.00 – 8.30pm. This one is a great introduction to the whole plant-based food concept, for those who haven’t been to a Nibl event before. It also includes recipes not included in other events so even if you’ve been to a workshop previously, don’t rule this one out – I still have plenty of tricks up my sleeve which you may not already know about. This one is a Monday night, again by request – so all you people who weren’t free to come to demos on Wednesdays and Thursdays last year – this one’s for you!

Then on Sunday 18th May from 12.00 – 2.30pm we have the Super Snacks Workshop. We’ve run this one a few times before, both at Taste Nature and for private groups, and it’s been really popular. For those who’ve heard about the famous Nibl crackers, this is where you get to see me make them – and possibly roll up your sleeves and help me, if you’re so inclined!
Given that some of you reading this may have your heart set on coming to a particular event, I’m just letting you know that all three of these events have quite a few bookings. Super Snacks is already half-full, and it’s more than two months away! The more the merrier but, having said that, we only have space for a limited number of people at each event. And if you are lucky enough to have been given a gift voucher, please contact me to let me know which event you want to attend – that way I can reserve you a space at the event you most like the look of.
If you’ve read all the way to the end of this, and you’re not in Dunedin (or workshops aren’t your bag, baby) then well done you! I love hearing from you too. Please feel free to post comments (not you spammers, I’m a little tired of your incessant pitches to sell insurance and advertising and pharmaceuticals and dating services) – it should be easier now than it used to be. Don’t be shy! If you’ve tried a recipe, it would be great to hear how it turned out. Otherwise, I sometimes wonder if I’m just writing all of this stuff for myself (is anybody out there???)
(PS. Thanks to the lovely Lisie for being the hand/apron model in the top photo.)

Another reader here… Not every post – but most of them.
