Interesting facts about this month’s Farmers Market “smoothie”:
1. It was meant to be a smoothie but, when I looked at the ingredients, I thought to myself “these would be awesome as a juice”.
2. This is surprising, as I’m not a big juice fan – generally I don’t like to make something if it’s going to take longer to clean the appliance than to consume the end product.
3. You could probably still turn this into a smoothie – you’d need to add at least a cup of liquid, and grate the beetroot. I haven’t tried it yet though, so don’t hold me responsible if it’s not great.
4. As I was pushing the ingredients through the blender, I decided it probably wasn’t such a good idea; it looked like it was going to taste bad.
5. I was wrong. It’s flippin’ delicious. I just drank all of it myself, as I’m the only one at home right now and I can be greedy like that.
6. When you’re making juice, pass the leftover pulp through the juicer a second time. It’s amazing how much more juice you get.
7. I have no idea what to do with all the leftover bright purple pulp, and I’m now seriously questioning my decision to sit down and write this post before I cleaned the juicer.
8. I don’t generally leave raspberries lying around all over the house – only when I’m taking photos for the blog.

Hello! I wanted to inform you that I made a smoothie inspired by this one at lunch time today and it was very very good. It consisted of frozen raspberries and banana, a beetroot, and some orange juice. It was so thick we ate it like yoghurt with a spoon. I think it will put hairs on our chests! My son has just informed me that girls don’t grow chest hairs. How does he know that?
Hello Jenny! That sounds absolutely divine! I’m going to try that one myself. So happy to be inspiring you and your hairy (or not) family, hee hee! Thanks for commenting, it’s lovely to hear from you.
