Time Flies When You’re Having Fun!

Can you believe we’re into February already? Shocking. Better get this Nibl show on the road again.

We had a wonderful Summer Extrawdinary Food Workshop last Sunday – lots of fun for all involved, particularly me! Everyone seemed to have a great time – I’ll be updating the feedback page soon and incorporating some of the lovely comments. And you can read a review under the review tab. Thanks so much to everyone who came along, and brought friends, and to Taste Nature for kindly hosting us again. And of course to my lovely assistants – couldn’t have done it without you!

So what’s next? Coming up on Wednesday 12th February we have the Lunchbox Envy Demo – this one is very similar to the fundraiser that we ran at Balaclava School in December, which was quite a hit. So if you couldn’t get to that one, this is for you. All about delicious, healthy, portable food – great for children’s lunchboxes, or your own for that matter!

And following that we have another Summer Extrawdinary Food Workshop on Sunday 23rd February – this one is open to Les Mills members only. If you’re a LM member, you can see more info on the local LM facebook page, or contact me directly if you’re keen.

The next full-length workshop open to the public is the Not for Me, Dairy  Workshop on Sunday 9th March – this is a brand new workshop, with a focus on how to make plant-based substitutes for milk, cream, yoghurt and cheese. Perfect for people who have to steer clear of dairy products (or have someone in the house who is dairy-free). Also great if you just want a bit of a change from dairy – one you’ve tried cashew cream, you won’t look at regular cream in quite the same way again!

Now Dunedin is a great place to start a business like this – people are willing to give something new a try, and word spreads quickly. But we also have a tendency to book for events at the last minute (I am as guilty of this as the next person). People are now starting to book into Nibl events well in advance – which is awesome for me, as it makes planning much easier. It does mean, however, that if you have your heart set on a particular event (or you have a gift voucher that you want to use), you don’t want to leave it too late. I don’t want people to be disappointed, but each event has a maximum number of guests – once they’re full, they’re full. So if you’re thinking of booking, don’t hold back! You might run out of time.

PS. People are asking about the Otago University clocktower photo at the top of the post – I took it on a night shoot which was part of a great one-day photography workshop I did recently with Alkim Photography. I thoroughly recommend them if you’re looking for photography training in Dunedin (www.nzphotoworkshops.com). Thanks Allan and Kim, I learnt a lot in one day – I’ll definitely be back for more!
